I love to garden. Unfortunately I live in an apartment. Looking for a house so I can have a garden again. When I had a house I had flower gardens and a very large vegetable garden. I really miss it. With my Lupus I have to have help to care for them now. I have my husband for that. LOL.... Do any of you have gardens? What do you like to grow? I love roses. I also love all types of fresh vegetables. I can't wait to move!!!!

I have started a week ago with many new gardening projects. I love flower gardens and have many. I take care of my Mothers 1 acre lot and my 3/4 acre lot. Now I have taken on one other elderly persons lot which is very tiny. I started by just offering to cut their lawns for them. Things have grown over the years from cutting the lawn to trimming the hedges, planting trees, removing trees, and now planting flowers. I have started a new flower bed at my Mothers that I built yesterday, it will have an assortment of wild flowers that will attract butterflies and hummingbirds. she loves to sit and watch both of these outside her window. I am going to try my hand at growing a tomato plant, I have never tried growing food. So I planted a tomato plant yesterday in what I call my secret garden. I am also helping the other lady with some fruit trees she purchased. I love working outdoors and can do it for hours without realizing how long I have been out there. My flower garden and my Mothers rose garden are looking beautiful this year. I found gardening to be one of the best exercises ever. The results are also very nice.

I love wildflowers. Your mother will enjoy the butterflies and hummingbirds they attract. Do you have a hummingbird feeder for her also. My mother had one and she had hummingbirds feeding constantly. Good luck with your tomatoe plant. I had a vegetable garden when my kids were young. Saved a lot of money on the food bill. They used to complain about helping with it. Now they all want me to have one because they miss the fresh vegetables. LOL.. Funny how they appreciate these things as adults.

To bad you don't have a patio. You could grow some tomatoes in a pot. You could also grow some herbs in small pots in the window. Nothing like fresh herbs for cooking. Have a great day.

I just moved in to a new house here in the Philippines. I'm actually just renting one of the rooms, but the owner is now living in another country and the caretaker pretty much leaves me to do as I wish. So, for this summer, I found myself a new project. And that is...to FIX THE GARDEN! I don't quite know where to start, but I'm excited about the whole thing. I can't wait!
