do i lack compassion?

i sometimes feel that i lack compassion....basically cause i dont get very sad on seeing someone else in a pathetic condition. the way my mind works is that i feel if i cant help the person....its no use thinking about his or her problems n ruining my day too. moreover....many a times i dont wish well from the bottom of my heart....for a person who's going to do a perticular task. i know i would go upto any extent to help him or her do that task....but as far as wishing good is concerned...i dont pay much attention to that. do i lack compassion? what shall i do?

You certainly do not lack compassion .
If you start being unhappy about the apin of every
other person then believe me you would not have much time to enjoy the whatever little happiness or cheer that
life has to offer to you .
You are actually very correct in not paying too much
attention be4cause you are going to make it no better for the person in pain .
Offer your help if you can . Otherwise there is no need
to take it on your heart .

thx a lot for the advice. but the thing i am more concerned about is why dont i wish well for people from the bottom of my heart?? anyways...thx for the response:)
