Vishwanathan Anand is the best chess players. He thought many things while playing. He concentrate and played patiently. Grand master Vishwanathan Anand is the man who brought Indian Chess revolution. He has stamped his authority on the chequered game of 64 squares by bringing the long awaited word Chess title to India. The Indian, maestro popularily known as Vishy is the tiger from Chennai. He learnt, Chess at the tender age of 6 from his mother while in Philippines. He became the youngest national champion at the age of 16 and in 1987, he became the first Asian to win the World Junior Championship. Vishy is a gentleman and sportsman of India. He plays Chess with lighting speed. He always has the quest for excellence. He dedicates his victory to his family, especially his mother and wife. He is very cool and nice gentleman. Anand has been awarded many prestigious titles in India including the Arjuna Award, Padmashri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the Soviet Nehru Award and Padma Bhusan. He was also conferred the prestigious International Chess Oscars for two successive years. Anand is the first Asian to become Chess Oscar winner. He has made the whole country proud by winning the world championship. It is historic and remarkable triumph for our country. His grand success will inspire country’s youth for achieving excellence in the field of sports.

Hey, this forum is for discussions on the movie Anand and not about Vishwanathan Anand. But, anyhow to answer your query, I think Gary Kasparov was simply the best of the lot by a long way. And he proved it time and again and again and again. He had the best ILO ratings before the chess associations split. Cheers! Ram

It's very difficult to compare,I could say Anatoly Karpov because I know him personaly ,but that's too cheap. Steinitz,Morphy,Lasker,Capablanca,Aljechin,MaxEuwe, Botvinnik,Fischer etc, they were all the best players during some time, but it's difficult to compare between Steinitz or Karpov, capablanca or Kasparov etc ,but they all have played beautifull games.
