Do you pay your credit card bills in full each month or do you carry a balance? If you carry a balance, do you pay just the minimum each month or do you try to pay more?

Usually I pay the amount in full once the bill comes in. There are times I get into a financial mess and I would only pay at least the minimum. That seldom happens, though. Even if money is tight I make it a point to pay over the minimum amount.

We are on a plan to pay off as fast as possible. We started with the highest interest and paid that one off and then we roll the extra amount on to the next one. As we are paying the highest one, we pay just minimum on the others until one is paid off. We should be done in 2 years and we have not touched any credit in two years.

That sounds like the Dave Ramsey method. Is that what you are following? I was doing the exact same thing as you and it was working really well. Until my husband switched jobs and we started renovations on our house. I have to get back on track. The method really does work.

as much as possible, i'd like to pay in full or at least more than 50% of the total balance. there are times that i don't have enough money so i'd settle with the minimum amount, and pay additional payments whenever i have extra money.

I usually pay my credit card in full payment before the due date. However, in cases that I don't have enough money to pay it all, I only pay the minimum charge.

We carry a balance each month and we usually only pay the minimum. I try to pay more - but money is tight right now so we do what we can do. The only card that we have that never carry over a balance is our gas card. We pay that one off each month. We only put our gas purchases on that.

Before I just pay a minimum or some amount and would leave a balance for each month for my credit cards. I noticed that I am paying much money on interest or finance charges whenever I dont pay in full. Now, I see to it that I am paying in full the monthly billing of my credit cards.
