You must tag your discussions this will help you and others to see other discussion related to the similar topic.
If some other person has started the discussion on tags and has responded the at the bottom of page you will see discussions on similar topics.

I almost always tag. I don't think there is any advantages except helping myLot become more organised. I guess it's part of my public service effort. LOL :P

I don't really like adding tags, but I do because I think you get credit for it. It also helps people find your discussions easier. But, if I am commenting on the same response or discussion over and over, I won't add a tag.

hello borzack, I try to add as many tags as possible because it helps me find discussions I can only remember a part of, yet want to get back to. Rather than to flip thru all my responses to discussion, hoping to recognise it in the title or the leadin to a discussion, it's nice to put in as many tags as you can think of to search from the discussion search at the top of the page. It also makes other similar subjects come up at the bottom of the page.
Think of one of the tags you used that related to an article you wanted to find again, let's use "adding tags" as an example. If you do the search, you should see 4 results, however if you change the search to "tag" only, there are at least 10 pages of results. Quite a difference on the results, huh?
This is just an example I've used to show you a big difference in the way you enter your tags, but mylot has added some other, more detailed information about tagging in the FAQ page. You should really check it out, it's definately worth reading. :)

wow you did a research on it? how kewl is that? thank you so much for your info. Where's the FAQ page? I don't see any FAQ pages here? i only see link: home, interests, discussions, blogs, messages, friends, photos, earnings, myLot. I have so many questions and i think this FAQ will answer them. but where is it???

Whenever I leave replies on someone else's discussion, I usually skip tagging it. It usually has all the tags that it can handle, so I just leave it at that. However, if I see a discussion that doesn't have any, I will leave one or two. Common courtesy thing I guess. I also tag my discussions when I make one. It only helps draw more people to it. No tags means no one will find it.

The theory behind tagging is that when viewing discussions you can easily see what the content will be about and also to make it easier when using the search function.
I used to skip this process but read a thread that suggested we were paid for making these tags. So I started doing it. I'm not sure if it has affected my earnings or not... But every little helps!

i always do put some tags to help the myLot people become organized in their discussions and for the people to have some easy way to find the discussion they want to answer but sometimes if i don't have a word in connection with the discussion or see that my word is already given as a tag, then i don't do it and i just skip. :)
