Well, I was at work earlier and was in my own little world when I got an idea for a story. I get most of my ideas whilst at work and since I just get to sit and serve people, I do tend to go off in my own world quite a lot.
Anyway, the story I was thinking about was this:
A woman wakes up, sat in a chair, bit uncomfortable. She has no idea where she is and when she realises someone is watching her, gets a bit concerned. After talking to this man for a while, she finds out she is currently on a plane going to Australia. She has also be 'kidnapped' but only to help find an ex-boyfriend she hasn't seen for years. Being a tad confused, she goes along with it and starts helping out with the investigation, remembering the ex's hobbies and what his dreams were.
Anyway, you sort of get the message half way through the journey that this is some kind of test, for her (she doesn't find out, you the reader finds out). The test is to become an agent for somewhere like MI5. They test her ability to know when she is being followed and finding someone with having no clue where they could be.
OK, now, does this sound like something you would attempt to get into, obviously once it has been written, or would you not even touch it. I really think this could go somewhere if written properly.
What do you think?

yes i think it sounds very interesting. I tend to make up a lot of ideas for stories also, I have more story ideas than I do stories, a lot more lol. But I think I would read this if it was written right! Its very creative. Be careful that no one steals you idea though =/ It could happen. Maybe you could send you next ones to only your trusted friends, who wont steal it. Because sadly there are mean people that might try to out write you =/

I like the basic concept. I think that, if more were developed about her boyfriend (backstory like he was a terrorist or double agent) and only she knew certain things about him, it would work well. For example, MI5 or the CIA is merely using her to do its dirty work. You're certainly onto something with your concept. Actually, in a way it reminds me of a movie made several years back about a Russian who had infiltrated the US military and it was set in Washington, DC. I think it was called "No Way Out." Of course spying and enemies have changed a lot since the Cold War days, but there will always be an interest in this genre. Good luck with your writing.

I think that if you worked on the plot you could come up with a decent story there. Ideas are everywhere, just remember to write them down so you don't forget. I'm currently working on a story and went back to look at the original idea I had and it's pretty different from the story I ended up plotting. Right now I'm avoiding writing on it though I'm not quite sure why.

I wouldn't read it, sorry, but only because i'm not into reading that kind of thing. my tastes are like...if she woke up sitting in a chair and slowly realised it was an alternate dimension, nearly the same but different, whereshe'd somehow switched places with an alternate version of herself and needed to find how to switch back or something, that would be more like what i'd like to read.

I'd hate to tell you this, but you are the victim of writer's instant gratification. Its when a writer pitches his ideas to others to get comments quickly. You should write the book, and then tell people about it.
Nine of of ten times, the idea hasn't even reached 25 pages. Am I right on this?
I hope you don't find this offensive. I discovered this when I was reading a book about writing novels.

If you believe in the idea then I say go for it! Now, it's just an idea. Work with it, play with it and develop your characters and the plot. Then start writing a story.
I find that if I share an idea with others that they knock it down and then I lose my interest in what may be a great story. Never lose hope in your ideas. Good Luck!
