I have allergies. Every thing has a coating of yellow on it. Our pollen count has been over 2000 lately and it is killing me. I can not get a good breath to save my self. I think I pulled a muscle in my side from coughing, or broke a rib. I have taken an allergy pill and that is usually good enough to get by. BUT today I just can not seem to get past it.
My worse time is when the privet hedges bloom, and they are not even blooming yet! I will surely die when they do if someone can not help me.
I am inside with the air on and I still am suffering. I do not know what else to do.
Do you have any suggestions? PLEASE!
Do you have any allergies?
What are they?
How do you cope?

I don't have allergies but one of my sons has for a good share of his life. We were told years ago to eat local honey helps so we tried it and it's true. It's something to do with the bees collecting pollen from 'local plants' to make their honey and eating a teaspoon a day helps build emunities to the local pollen - it has to be local though, not the junk from the grocery store. We have an apple orchard nearby that also makes their own honey. It's a bit more expensive but my son has never needed any kind of medication for his allergies.

I am due to go in for other things soon I could go early but it would be better to wait. I am suppose to go in about 10 days so I don't want to go now and then.
The Doctor I am with now has never given me an inhaler. The others have though. One had me come in for breathing treatments one time.

Oh I do know how you feel. I just got out of the hospital due to bronchitis which was caused from my allergies and the flu. Not a good situation. You should check with your doctor and if you are having really bad time breathing go to the ER. They can help.
Now my doctor just started me out on Astelin, which is a nasal spray for allergies. I've tried everything else before and they didn't work. The best was benedryl but that can make you very tired. Well this stuff is working. I use it twice a day, once when I get up and once before bed, and I wouldn't know I had allergies. It's a blessing like you wouldn't believe. I was doubtful on it working after having so many not work but this one is. So it might be something to check out with your doctor.
In the mean time though some things to help. Get the hose out and have the kids wash the grass and stuff down. Get the pollen away. Change your a/c filter. Reduce anything inside you are allergic too, dust, frangrences, etc. That way at least inside won't be as bad.

Yeah I have indoor and outdoor. The outdoor ones though are really bad this year. I hope things get better for you. I was really surprised with this Astelin working for me but right now I wouldn't even know it was spring out there. First time in years I can breathe this time of year :)

I had my daughter playing in the water yesterday. She sprayed off the porch and around the door, but most of the water went on her!LOL
I hate to here you were so sick. It is what I fear. I have bronchitis and the allergies aggravate it. I have had pneumonia two times, and am careful because of it. So far today is better because we finally got a little rain. I am not leaving the house today and have the air on. I will change the filter when I get out to get a new one. This one is fairly new and I am getting my son to take it outside and shake it off to remove some of the dust, etc that is on it until I can get to the store. All of my allergies are from seasonal things so they are all outside. Thank God for that!

I would suggest taking a shower when you go into your house, as this helps me feel better. Also don't put the same clothes back on, as I always put on clean clothes. I am allergic to many types of food and dust, so I changed how I eat and avoid dusting in my home.

I suffer from Hayfever so so bad. My nose runs, I sneeze like crazy and I cannot stop coughing, along with my eyes that water so much they swell up.
I take Claritin Pills. One a day and I make sure I take it as soon as I get up and at LEAST an hour before I go outdoors.
They take away the worst of it, but on days when the count is extreme, I still suffer and so try to make sure I stay indoors as much as possible. The summer isn't usually so bad, but the Spring kills me and I sympathize with you.
I was given eye drops by the doctor to help my eyes but I didn't feel they really did anything, I refused to even use the nasal spray lol.
I do hope you find something that will help you. Maybe go see your doctor and tell him you need something thats extremely powerful to help you cope.
I wish you luck.

Thank you I take Claritin also. It helps with the nose and eyes for the most part, but my chest is what is so bad. I feel much better today as I have the air on and have not been outside for more than a few seconds. It also rained a bit last night and that has helped the pollen count some.
I do not worry about the eyes either if I have taken my pill. They are not to bad.
I am going to tell the Dr that I want an inhaler for days like yesterday. They have never given me one before but my old Dr did, and it was a God send for sure.
I hope you are doing okay, and when it gets warm up there, I hope you do not feel like I did yesterday!=o}

Please do the following 3 times a day. Take the breath through left nose and keep the breath for 20 to 30 seconds inside your heart and leave breath through right nose. While leaving the breath through your right nose, please keep the left nose tightly pressed by your finger so that no air should come through your left nose. You do this at least 15 times morning, afternoon and evening- 3 times in a day. Within 15 days you will get some relief. Continuously doing the process everyday, within 6 months you will get cured completely forever. I had chronic breathing trouble. No ENT specialist could cure it. I was advised by somebody to follow this. Since I am employed I used to do twice a day. I got cured.

I have some mild ones, I am sure. I notice it in my breathing. I like to buy a tea called Breathe Easy. If I were you, though, I would read the label as it is herbal, and it sounds as if you have lots of trouble. I would hope you would not be allergic to it. Apples, and apple juice are supposed to be beneficial to people with breathing difficulties. Do you use an air filter as well as the air conditioner?

Hi, I do understand how do you feel about it. Actually I also one of allergies people that suffers on it. In your case I think it is pretty chronic and I do not think so this is the good time to seek some tips on overcoming the problem and practicing the tips. In this stage we do not know whether the tips are working for you or instead. Besides, you do not have any time to test an error for the tips. My suggestion is pay a visit to your personal doctor because in this time being I am sure he knows the best and could do some more test on you! I really hope you will be cured as soon as possible.

Awww tammy, I know what allergies can do for us. I was born with a lot of allergies too. I inherited it from my mother's side. While growing up, I can't count the number of times that my mother needed to bring me to different doctors. I'm allergic to dust mites, pet, mosquitoes, and any harsh chemical agents. I also have a terrible allergic rhinitis. Every year, I needed to go to my ENT doctor to suck out all the phlegm inside my nose and throat. It doesn't hurt really but I can feel this ultra thin tube being inserted from my nose down to my throat. I also need to use nasal spray everyday to help me breathe deeply. Miraculously, it was cured completely when I stayed in another country for 3 years with cold climate. Until now, I don't have any rhinitis. But I have to be extra careful in using any cosmetic products on my body. I guess we just need to accept our allergies. Why not try taking burdock root. It is a supplement that cleanse our blood and especially helpful for allergies. You can ask your doctor about it. :)

My cousin has asthma and he uses inhalor.Several times in the past it has been so bad for him that my aunt spent all night by his bedside praying because doctor had done what he could do.Now,his condition has improved and he has less of asthma attacks.
I don't have an allergy and I know it can be tough when you have one.If you have pollen allergy, then masks might help .Of course if you use antihistamines ,then it's better not to discontinue. You should consult your doctor about the additional precautions you might need.

if you are having such a hard time breathing...feeling like you can not get enough air to fill your lungs. if you have no energy because of this lack of air, if you are making a lot of noise on your breathing. GET TO A DOCTOR! and get a nebulizer treatment. It sounds like an alergy triggered Asthma attack, and it can kill you.

I had told my daughter we would go to the flea market today. I sleep with the windows open as it is only cool at night not to cold.
I woke up having difficulty and after being at the out door flea market, for 2 hours it was pretty bad. I closed the windows and turned on the air. It was a lot better then.It is late here and I will get some sleep soon. Hopefully I will feel better in the morning. If I am not better by Monday I will call the Doctor and go by the apple farm on my way to see her.

I did that at Christmas. I never knew a pulled muscle could hurt so bad it feels like a broken rib. I had some heavy lifting to do at the time and thought that may have been the cause, but come to think of it, there was a nice thick coat of yellow on my truck when I visited my grandmother for a few days. Because the mucus was causing the cough I took MucinexMD and was at least able to get some relief until the pulled muscle healed. Unfortunately, that's not a very fast process. Hope you're feeling better now.

For the 12 hours of relief it provided, it was well worth the $9 per bottle to me, even though it's only a 10 day supply. The generic is fairly similar and less expensive but you have to take it every 4 hours. That won't let you get a good night's sleep if you wake up coughing in the middle of the night like I was. Sometimes the coughing fits would make it feel like the rib was broken again and make it hard to get back to sleep for a while.
I often have seasonal allergies but have to treat what symptoms arise as they develop, lol. I think the reply about honey was interesting and have already been thinking about doing some research on that for myself. Most of my allergies have been pretty easy to deal with but after this discussion I see I need to do a little research of my own to see what other preventive measures can be taken.

You should try eating a spoonfull of honey first - the reason why is because honey is made from pollen by bees i think or something like that - because of that honey may give you a resistance to it. Or you could put it with hot water and make a honey drink. Just give it a try first.
My mum used to be allergic to seafood (it made her throat swell so was lethal) until she started eating honey.
If that doesn't work then get a doctor's appointment - although i doubt they will even help.
