I could have sworn that there was a discussion already started about this but I can't find it anywhere so I guess I'll start my own. Did you know that if you google your user name, all of your discussions and responses come up? I just searched mine and was shocked to see it! Has anyone else tried this? What do you think about it?

That is really creepy!!! I did my ID on my Ebay account and everything came up for me with that too!! How weird, even some newsletters that I subscribe to...too much information is out there that I didn't realize!

I have always felt uncomfortable using my real name on this computer and now I feel justified in not doing so! I guess it's true -- anything you put out there in cyberspace is there forever for anyone to see! Thanks for the response!

Oh, man. You're right. I just did it. I really don't like that. I like thinking that if you want to know about anything here on MyLot that is personal, you have to join mylot or at least go to the site to see it. I guess it isn't harming anything, but thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Not a problem. It's a little creepy. Fortunatly, in some of the places I am registered, I have a fairly common screen name so you would have to be a cyber-stalker to find it, but it's still a bit unsettling. Thanks for the response!

I had a hard time googling for my username, as this was an original name already. But it's alright, atleast we did learn something new from it!;) Let's just hope that our accounts will be protected here on mylot, we never know what hackers would do if they found out about it..

Creepy is definitely a good word for it. Way to much information is out there for anyone to read. I don't use this name for too many other things but I looked up my old user name that I had for about 5 years before this, I couldn't believe everything that turned up. 32 pages worth of information that I didn't need the whole world to see! It didn't seem so bad when it was just a little piece here and there over the course of 5 years but seeing it all together...I might as well put a sign in my front yard saying "here I am stalkers".

I know what you mean! I do have another screen name for another site but because it is so common, there are literally hundreds of pages to have to swim through. I am not really worried about anything on there, but this name is pretty unusual...(got a shiver thinking about it)
