Two homes - with owners who differ on environmentalism

I was really surprized at the end!
HOUSE # 1: A 20-room mansion (plus 8 bathrooms) is heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this home consumes more energy than the average American household in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is in the South. If you are up on current events, you probably know who is the owner.
HOUSE # 2: Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house contains 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it
in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.
HOUSE # 1 (The 20 room mansion) is outside of Nashville,Tennessee. It is the home of the renowned environmentalist and filmmaker) Al Gore.
HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

Now, I am eagerly awaiting the commentary on this.
One the one hand, we have the man who singlehandedly invented the internet, discovered global warming and linked man as the sole cause, and an avowed environmentalist, otherwise known as Al Gore, is purposely using 20 times the national average in energy for his home.
On the other hand, we have Bush, who is generally regarded as the most stupid, evil, and greedy being to ever walk this planet since Satan fell from Grace...who by planning and deliberate intent has a house that just flat out-greens the home of the super environmentalist known as Al Gore-Legend In His Own Mind.
How can this be?
How is it possible that Bush, who by all accounts cares nothing for the environment... and all the other bad press his detractors shovel on him....how is it that his house uses cutting edge technology to be more environmentally friendly than nearly any other house in the US?
Why does Al Gore's house use so much?
Is it possible that he knows the whole Global Warming thing is really a natural cyclical part of nature that has absolutely nothing to do with man?
Why else would he preach the gospel of global warming, and not practice what he preaches?
So many people think Bush has lied to them over various things. I think they are wrong.
Here though is hard evidence of Bush's opposition, caught not only in a lie, but also caught in the act of telling us all everything that we should give up in the interest of the environment, and to stave off global warming, while he goes about his life, wasting energy and doing nothing to protect the environment or stop global warming other than pay it lip service, and getting paid for making movies.
Can you say hypocritical?
How about Elitist?

WHAT !!! ... Why would anyone fight so hard to make the world realise about Global Warming and believe me he has fought hard on this subject and then to turn around and live in a house like that. Are you sure that,s correct, if so then I,m discusted. I find it hard to believe. If i lived in America I would go find out for myself.

I have seen quite a bit about this on the news and I have to say I am really disppointed as I really thought he was genuine in his campaign against global warming. I guess I should have known never to trust a politician.

wow what a chasm between the two - and the first belongs to someone who is supposed to be an environmentalist? If you can afford to buy and run a house like this surely you should be able to afford to fit it with 'green' systems! Hypocritical is a word that springs to mind here Lakota! Who would have thought of George Bush as so eco friendly?

Thats kewl, We all know what hipocrits the democrats are anyway. It really dosnt suprise me that Bush owns such a house. If Gore owned it, I'm sure he would give weekly press tours and use it as a some kind of a badge of honor. This is all news to me but I'm really not that suprised.
