I could say I am punctual. I hate tardiness especially during meetings. Punctuality is the characteristic of being able to complete or fulfill a required task or assignment before the designated time. Time is the major factor here. It is looked upon as an important element to achieve certain goals in a given time. Some cultures put a premium on punctuality while others claim to value it when they do not or do not disregard it as highly. To cultures which value such attitude, being late is tantamount to showing disrespect for another's time and may be considered insulting.

It is now....
Many years ago I was terribly unpunctual. I would always think that I could do more than I could in a short period of time, with the result that I always achieved less, was rushing around AND tended to arrive late for meetings and such.
I would even be late in meeting my wife for lunch, for example.
I then realised that this was stressing me out, was disrespectful to others and was making it impossible for me to plan my life AND for other people to take me seriously! I was becoming known as someone who couldn't even be where he said he would be at a certain time, let alone keep any more promies!
I eventually dealt with this by starting to leave 15 minutes before I normally would for meetings - this meant that I arrived early, but it did give me some slack time in case I got side-tracked in to something else. I also increased teh amount of time that I expected to spend on tasks - now, for example, when I'm planning my day, the minimum amount of time I allocate to a task is 30 minutes. This may seem excessive, but it makes sure that I don't take on too much.
I think that mobile phones have made people 'running late' more acceptable. Before cell phones, people would have no way of telling tehir friends they were going to be late, and so, I think, made more of an effort to be there on time. Now, it's easier to ring people up and say 'I'm running late'. Which I fidn really annoying now that I'm (usually) always on time!! :-)
