April Fool's Day

Here in the UK most people say that April Fool jokes only count if done in the morning - before noon. As today is Sunday, I'm not intending to leave the house until then. :-) I was fooled a few times when I was a small boy, but as I've grown older I think I must have become more cynical! I'm not a practical joker myself - I think it's a dignity thing - I hate the idea of someone being laughed at because of something that I've done, so I tend not to play jokes at any time of the year. That makes me sound like a terrible old curmudgeon, but I'm not really - I don't mind laughing with people, but I don't find it easy to laugh AT someone. :-) And I'm always DELIGHTED to laugh at myself!

I actually played a pretty mean prank on my roommate on April Fool's Day. I went into the garage, which is right next to the hallway, where he was. I made a bunch of noise and then I yelled, Jim, help. He rushed in and I was laying on the cement and said I fell and I couldn't get up. He got me back later twice. He told me his brother was coming over cause his new wife left him and I fell for it. Later he wouldn't make up his mind what he wanted to watch on tv, while I stomped back and forth between the livingroom and my bedroom. He really gt a kick out of that. I thought my prank was better.
