Wow, that is different and I am glad it worked out for you. If all in-laws were like that.

Not exactly, but when I pick them up and ask if they were good she's like, "Yes, but I didn't get much done." and they told us that we need to find a babysitter for when my husband has to work overtime and we barely ever use them to babysit. It's like once a month or so. It really hurt our feelings.

My husband's parents are gone. They really contributed to the well-being of our daughter while they were here. My son was born right after my Father-In-Law passed away and he was still a baby when my Mother-In-Law passed away. My parents have helped us out financially, but they don't babysit. (unless it's an emergency)
I guess if your MIL doesn't enjoy having the kids there, they are better off staying with someone who can appreciate them. When your kids dread going somewhere, it's a sure sign that they are unwelcome and unhappy!

Thanks for the input, I have found a babysitter for occasions that come up and she lives right across the street from my In-laws, how funny, huh?

Yes they do. my parents more then my in-laws. i don't have any kids yet but when I do I am hoping they can all help out once and awhile with the kids if needed. Why do you say you mother in law doesn't like to watch the kids. It's her grandchildren

My inlaws live several states away but I think they would help out in an instant if I asked. They are very supportive. My father lives just a few blocks away and would do anything for us. We are very blessed to have such great parents.

My dad is a macanic so he always helps me with my car, my inlaws always have us over one night a week for dinner and send us home with enough food to last two days. It is a help.

I love my mom-in-law. More of a mother than you know, but hey what ever works. You get love from whomever has it to give. Anyway, of course my answer is my in-law,(that seems strange to even type, in-law)
