suppose marriage weren't for life, but for five years, as specified by a contract(which could be renewed). would this system be an improvement over what we have.

If marriage system is abolished then there is no differance beween an animal and human being! Ofcourse the human is also an animal with the sixth sense! But you want to destroy the developed traditions of the past. But as one sayng goes the traditions will changeto worse before the disoster comes.
