Today is April first. People use to celebtrate this day as a fool's day. but the origin is not clear. There is a story. In olden days as early as 1582, the new year was said to be celebrated during Marchend.The celebrations were for 8 days From march 25 to April 1. But in 1582 during the time of Charles IX the Gregorian Calender was introduced and the new year was moved to January 1.But in those days the communication was very poor. People in remote areas used to celebrate the new year as usulka between 25 March to April 1. This continued for several years!The people in such area refused to the change and continued to celebrate in this way! They were subjected to some rediculation and were called as fools! This tradition might have been evolved in to the tradition of prank-playing on the first day of April!This might have spread to all over the world indue course!
