In your culture, do left handed people get frown on? Are you left handed or right handed? How does that affect your life?

I am righthanded. My grandfather was natually lefthanded, but when he was growing up(early 1900's in the US) it was strongly(and forcefully-- if he tried to use his left hand in school, he'd be struck with a stick or ruler) discouraged, and he was made to learn to write with his right hand. As a result, he had pretty terrible handwriting because it never came naturally to him to use his right hand, though he ended up doing so out of habit for most of his life.

I can identify with your grandfather, when I was in grade 1, i have a teacher who keep forcing me to use my right hand to write. She would knock my hand with a ruler as well.
But I just could not write with my right hand. So she gave up on me and I cd use my left hand again.
