Today is Palm Sunday here in Manila everybody goes to church to buy a Palm or we called it here "Palaspas" anyone here bought one? and why?

we catholic celebrates palm sunday as the start of the holy week. we bought 2 palapas and went to church at 5am.

We commonly celebrate the palm sunday as the beginning of lenten season for catholic people specially for filipinos.thanks for the response.

we filipino start the lenten season not on palm sunday but on ash wednesday. palm sunday is the start of holy week. i think you got it wrong.

Right, i got it wrong holy week started on palm sunday and lenten season started on ash wednesday and that ashes came from the old palm we bought last year.all clear thanks.

i made my own palaspas by cutting the young branch of our palmera tree. it's been my practice to always prepare and have a palaspas for palm sunday no matter how it look.

Me, it doesn't matter how the palm i bought looks like too. i choose the palm which is more simple to look thats good at least you dont need to buy at all, and you exerted your own effort to do it,thanks for the response.
