You know what bro that's a great question. India was so good in hockey and they had also won the hockey world cup in Germany. thefore the Indian government declared it as a national sport.
Well the answer to your question is no for me. Compare the cricket and hockey supporting population in INDIA. The cricket supporting population is almost 1000 times the hockey supporting population. thefore their will a pressure on the cricket players as we as the coach and the selectors.
But down in my heart I feel that INDIA will surely come back strong, but still disspointed by INDIA's poor performance in the worldcup!!
Bye

If u think in that way.India has more cricket fans than any other country in the world.but india was never at top position.Though we won worldcup, i dont think we actually deserved it.

Well Friend that's exactly what I was thinking a few days back.I fully agree with you that Indian cricket is going the same way what our hockey has gone.Though truely speaking our past in hockey is much more impressive then cricket.
A decade or two back hockey also used to enjoy good viewership ,though it has never matched cricket, but after their dismal performances people just lost interest in hockey.Indian hockey is in present situation just because politics, corruption, improper selection of team and lack of proper training.Similarly Indain cricket is also facing similar problems. So the BCCI should learn from Indian hockey's past and prevent cricket going the same way.
