I love "Deadliest Catch", Do you?

I adore the fact that Mike (Dirtiest Jobs) does the narration for "Deadliest Catch". I think he's a great vocal talent, and a real comedian. I also like Sig, one of the Captains who are featured on "Deadliest Catch". Why? Well, I used to hear lobster stories from my cousin who used to go lobstering off of Eaton's Neck, Long Island, NY. Mike always had a ruddy complexion, from all the wind and sun. It seemed to me to be a worthwhile pursuit, since he had a boat and experience boating the Long Island Sound for all his life. One time they served up a lobster so big that one could only call it a monster. Since then, the Long Island Sound has suffered with algae blooms and sewage spills, and the fishing has become nearly non-existent. Many fishermen have lost their livelihoods to pollution, and seeing "Deadliest Catch" really brings the romance and danger of fishing back to me. So what about you? Why do you like the show, what catch is your favorite, and which Captain do you like?

I just started watching deadliest catch and I'm pretty much blown away. What a cool concept for a tv-show! As a Norwegian my favorite captain is Sig on the Northwestern. He and Edgar remind me so much about the local fishermen here. After watching it I have been thinking about getting into fisheries again. My dream is to own my own small fishing boat :)

Yep, after watching it for two seasons now, I've really romanticised over doing something in my area that could net me some money - we have crab and clams here...there are a few bloodworm diggers here too. If only the Long Island Sound and the South Bay weren't so polluted, I'd try my hand at it over the summer or fall. We have had so many algae blooms over that last 5 years that it's not worth it to try a start-up now. I'd love to move north to Maine or Vermont- or even to the North-most tip of NY, so that I could learn a natural industry that I could steward and make money at it at the same time. I hope you do get that boat someday! May you have safe journey no matter where you go!

you know, I didn't even know that was him. I watched the show several times and I'm always intrigued by deep sea fishing. I guess it is the mystery of what might be in that net when they bring it up...very intriguing...

I so love this show. I've always loved the ocean, though I found out recently that I dont' so much like going out in the actual ocean. lol Funny thing is I hate eating seafood...hate the smell of it cooked. But I LOVE the smell of the ocean. Love it. I think this show is just amazing though. I love watching them throughout the season and see the high and lows. Its exciting stuff. Makes you feel like your taking those challenges too. I don't have a favorite capatian though. I love them all. Truly they all have their own little quirks.

I'm watching Deadliest Catch now. I think Sig is my favorite Captain. It's too bad about the Challenger losing it's crew. That must be so scary knowing if you fall in without your suit your most likely not going to make it. Not a job for me thanks...lol

I love this show. It is one of my favorites and I never miss it. I've even gone to the Discovery Channels website just to read about everything new and attempt to play the game.

Deadliest Catch is one of my favorite shows. Reason being, it's a thrill to watch what these guys do for a living. Risking their lives and then if survived, making a good pay. That's my favorite part of the season. The money at the end. My favorite boat and Captain is the Northwestern and Captain Sig. They're the best ones on the show.

I love this show, my favorites captains are Phil and Sig. They're straight shooting people. I thought it was so funny when Phil heard Blake on the radio telling people where Phil had told him the crab were. Im not a big fan of Blake, hes got some entitlement issues. I hope that one guy on the Northwestern doesnt have to go to jail, it was neat to see the other side of him when he was reading that one letter he got from a fan last night.
