I like to know places in Texas, I have my favorite small town in Texas (Crockett.) I have been as far south as Laredo (but that was less than 3 months after a bad car accident & don't remember much besides the endless dry prairie on the ride down there - and I wasn't driving either. I've been on almost all of I-10, missed maybe a hundred miles after Kerrville. Since I rode that bus to Laredo, I've been all the way up & down I-35 (and both E & W thru Dallas & Fort Worth.)
I think Texas is probably the most diverse state in the union, and not a place to try & see in a week, heck, you'd have trouble doing Dallas & Ft Worth in a week and don't forget to go to Six Flags over Texas in Arlington between the 2 cities.
So, I know some of my friends are from Texas, have you traveled much in the state? How about the rest of you, have you ever visited Texas, where & when?

I will anti-place drop: I have NEVER been to Texas. My nephew's father lived in Houston and always spoke fonldly of it but I have never had the opportunity. Perhaps some day.
I'm a great fan of Six Flags, as well. If you ever get the chance to visit Six Flags in Vallejo California, it will knock your socks off!

I am not a big theme park fan, I don't like lines, or most of the rides. I don't like crowds. The last "theme park" I went to was Dollywood. It wasn't real crowded that weekday towards the end of summer, my mom & I saw a bunch of the musical venues & the bird show (they have an eagle rescue/rehab onsite.)

I should add that we have 3 six flags run parks in Texas, the original six flags in Arlington, Astroworld in Houston & Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, the last time I was at one was at Six Flags on a blind date in college! I did go to Astroworld back in high school & Fiesta Texas is too new for me to have gone to.
