I was diagnosed as Bipolar I with depression playing a major factor over the manic side. I was suprised at that. I figured I was more manic than depressed. Signs of depression is any drastic changes to eating and sleeping habits, lack of energy and interest, a feeling of overwhelming sadness or darkness, feeling the weight of all the problems on your shoulders and unable to find a way to resolve any one of them. Depression is an overwhelming feeling. And they way you present yourself to others around you, you may show sadness, anger, anxiety, withdrawn.
And you can be depressed and have no idea, especially if you have been depressed for a long time, because you would see your behavior as normal, where as a doc would see it as depression.

It is a possibility that people are in depression and do not have the slightest idea that they are. It is a state of the mind and not everyone know the symptoms and the term. So they do not realise that they are undergoing depression. And loneliness is not only a cause of depression but is a characteristic of depression. Despite the fact that you have people around you, you might feel that you have no one. This is due to depression. So in case you feel lonely, irritable, sometimes very hungry and sometimes very full, you cannot be content despite the fact that people are pretty pompous, there are a lot of other characteristics.
So if this has helped you then make sure that you keep a note of these characteristics.....
ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND ALL............

I have suffered from depression for most of my life so I know a lot about this.
Some symptoms of depression are being tired all the time, irritability, loss or gain of appetite, sleeping too much or too little, feeling sad a lot and crying easily, feeling hopeless and helpless, lack of interest in things you would normally enjoy, and lack of motivation.
Lonliness can definetly lead to depression, I have experienced this.

I think many peope are depressed and do not know it. Maybe they got so used to feeling this way that they haven't noticed. They may feel anxious, hopeless, unexcited about anything, eat too much or too little, etc. I do think also that loneliness can lead to depression.
