Why don't those people who have a rating of say, 40 or more, have to go in the more advanced rooms? They troll for those with lower ratings and think they will stomp them.

There are only a few people with a lower rating than myself. If anyone would ever experience those with higher ratings trying to "stomp" them, it should be me. I have never found those with higher ratings to be trying to "stomp" me. In fact, the higher the rating, the more nice people are towards me. So, I have to ask," What are you talking about?".

Hi. I hope you're still reading responses. I have a 50 rating in Canasta that I achieved a long time age, when that was all I played. I stopped playing for awhile, partly because life happened (lol), but mostly because players kept quitting mid-game when (I think) they thought they weren't going to win. Canasta is a great game with a strong "it's not over til it's over" draw to it. So, I got frustrated with players quitting too early and left the game for awhile. Now, my rating looks great, but I'm at like 1540 points. So I've been playing in the beginner or intermediate area to get back into the swing of things. I think that happens alot. A high rating doesn't necessarily mean they are great players. Maybe just lucky for awhile lol. Almost everyone is very nice in Canasta. Sorry you've had bad experiences, but keep playing and hopefully that will change! Take care.

When my rating was high I used to feel this way. I am really good at Canasta, but I played the 2 player and lost to a newbie so my rating dropped a lot. So now I am one of those, my rating is higher than 40, who find a game against a person ranked higher than me and I usually do stomp them. I am trying to boost my rating back up again

Canasta is a fun game, and should be enjoyed by everyone. Usually, when I play, I keep a private table so that things like that can't happen, since I'm just a social player basically. I play the rated games, yeah, but I don't like people to just come in, join a game where the computer is already well ahead, and trounce me then take off again. It's not fair, and I think that people should have the courtesy to ask first before they can join in, instead of just popping onto a table and assuming the role of the computer player.
