Does it make a difference?

When the discussion you are going to respond to already has a best response marked, do you still answer?Does that make a difference in the way you answer, or if you answer at all? When I find a discussion that interests me I don't even notice it a best response was chosen or not most of the time. I will answer because I'm interested in the subject or I have something to say about it.
But I know that some people really prize best responses and maybe that will influence their decision to respond or not.
Does it make a difference to you?

If I am really interested in a discussion, I will answer whether or not the best response has been given. I find there are certain topics which draw me to them and I have to add my opinion just for the sake of adding it. In actuality, my response may not be an opinion...it may be words of comfort to someone, it may be words of encouragement, or it maybe giving some advice. Whatever my words represent, I don't even think about the best response when I am writing my words.

There are days when there are not much interesting discussions (for me) to respond to, so if one discussion already has a "best response" chosen but it's worth giving my two cents' worth, then I will still respond to it. It doesn't really bother me or affect the way I answer the discussion. Happy myLotting!

That doesn't bother me either . When I see something that intersts me then I will take the time to answer . It is nice to be picked as best response but if you only answer based on that then you could be missing out on some good discussions to answer to and I find some days it is rather hard to find something that will catch your interests that you would like to answer to :)

I agree completely. There are very nice discussions in here, and I don't want to limit myself by something like that.
But a few days ago I was talking to a friend that is also here in mylot and we were talking about a discussion when she told me she didn't bother answering because the best response had already been marked.
I fail to see her reasoning. I mean I will still be paid for my response, and I will be participating in a discussion that interests me.
Best response is nice, but it won't even affect my earnings much.
TO each its own I guess :)

It does'nt matter to me as long as the subject is interesting i still post my reply. Sometimes, i wish that mylotters will still wait for other responses before choosing the best response because there are still responses that are coming and is better than the one selected.

I never notice or pay attention if it's best responsed already. I just answer anyway. If I win best response, that's great. If there's already a best response, that's great too, because I still get to talk about something I'm interested in in this great community. :)

Well, to tell you the truth. I never care about whether mine is the best answer or not. I have posted around 4500 posts and earned some good 100+ dollars here and have never worried about best answers...

Yes, in the end what matters is that we're participating - with the added bonus of pay of course :)
I don't think I post responses with the best response in mind at all. Actually it often comes as a surprise when I find out one of my answers was chosen. Not because I didn't answer to the best of my abilities, but because I wasn't even thinking about it.

hello.
for me..it does not matter. all i want to do is to share my opinion and i want them to know that i have experienced the same situation. Some people has different point of view..and sometimes we have same tought but different way to express it. never mind..just for the skae of sharing..

It seems at times the original poster stops following the subject when he or she has already selected a best response, and sometimes I do wonder if it would still matter if I do reply, but if I still feel that I have something of value to say, I will say so without paying attention as to whether or not a best response will be selected.

I know what you mean. SOmetimes it feels like that too.
Other times the person who started the discussion just can't come to the computer often, or they have a certain method in myLot to help them get organized in here.
I noticed that some people have it all organized: One day they start new discussions, the other they answer their friends discussions, the next, they answer new discussions, then they rate all discussions, then they respond to comments on their discussions etc.
SO sometimes It can take a while until the person gets back to the discussion.
This is actually my case often.

I honestly don't even see whether a best response has been chosen or not most of the time. I respond to discussions because I feel I can add something to it, or I feel I can benefit from it. I like the thought that I may be able to help someone out or offer support and advice.
I know people tend to prize Best Responses but personally, as much as I like being chosen as best response, I don't go out of my way to try and be chosen. If I do it's all good, if not, it's no skin off my nose.

I don't really notice the best response when I answer a discussion. I read the previous responses first though before replying to a discussion to make sure that I won't make the same answers that the others have already made. If a discussion has already has a response that expresses my exact thoughts then I no longer post in that discussion but if I find that I still have something to say (which have not been said yet) in the discussion then I reply to it regardless of it having a best response or not... ;)

I respond based on my interest in the topic. What someone chooses as a best response is their business. I don't waste my time responding to things I'm not interested in or don't catch my eye and I prefer responding to something that I feel like I can actually make a difference for someone. The way I see it is that I'm sowing seeds into other people's lives and even if they don't vote my response as best response, God sees my heart and He will bless my efforts accordingly.

If you have something to add to the talk the go for it even if it has a best responce already. I don't know if I have had any body give me a first respponce or not but that does not keep me from adding my $0.02 worth. I sometimes go to messages that have not had responses for two or more weeks to add to them because I think that they need to have more talked about that subject.

I don't even look to see if a best response has already been chosen when I respond to a discussion. I pick the discussion based on my interest in the topic. I don't base my response on trying to get the best response every time I post. It makes no difference to me.

I don't care if there is already a best response as long as I'm interested and love the subject I will still make a response. It doesn't affect too how I respond I say whatever I want to say.

It doesn't matter. If I see a discussion that I'm interested in or I can relate to, I will respond to it. If I get the best response that's great, I didn't even know I got any until I went and checked it out. I think it's stupid not to respond, the main reason that would want you to respond is you get paid for your response. That's one of the main reasons I joined Mylot in the first place. 2nd reason was to be able to type about things I feel or I can relate to.

i don't really care or pay much attention to whether the discussion has already been given a best response award or not. If the topic is interesting enough or something that i think i can give a good response (may not be good sometimes hehehe) then i just contribute. cheers

i dont mind if the one who posted that question already marked a nest answer, ans like others said, we get to say whatever we wanted to say, we get to express our opinion on the issue..and if theres already a best answer, thats the decision of the ones who posted the quetions and not within our control, as long is its open for answering, why not!

No, it doesnt make me stop to dont reply to that discussion at all. I have read somewhere earlier that the person who set up the discussion always can change the best response, even when he or she already has given a best response. Although, I thought that that was a possibility? Nevertheless, if I want to give a respons on a discussion I see I do so. Best respons already given or not. Maybe I contribute something important to the person who set up the discussion. You never know.
