Well today's i thought that I would send out a message to try to improve your life and those of your loved ones I think that we all should try to be a bit more artistic and trying to have a life that is full of the wonderful things of life created in your head and then made into something tangible in the outside world, whether you are making a beautiful garden or just rearranging the furniture. It is also valuable to try to be more socially charming and cheerier so that other can feel the same way about their own lives, you probably would like to mix with a much wider range of people, and perhaps to explore new leisure activities. You may also want to be out of your normal rut to find stimulation with companions who will stretch your mind as well as keep you entertained so keep looking and you shall find how you can improve your own life and those of you around you, as life is far too short not to at least try to improve our lives.

Maybe we should try something that's a little more different, like walking in the park that we don't usually do because were always too busy. or just strolling in mall.. or just stay at home and watch movies together!

This is a very relaxing thing to do. Aside from going to the mall and the park, I love to take a look at plants on sale and talking to the person in charge about new plants available. I love plants. The greens, live greens, lift my spirits up.

It's time, time which speand with our family in recreational activities. I give few hours daily to my family and home. I want them to realize that mayor of home is always worried about home and want to be always with them. I move furnitures and paintings every fortnight. I'm an artist by education so nearly in every 20 days I create a new painting and try to seek a place for it on walls. I love murals and sculptures too but my home is just 1000 square feet so no place. Thinking of getting a big house now to turn into a sweet home.

Thanks! Well it's true.. Life is so short, we should be spending our time with our loved ones so that there will be no regrets when the time comes, that one of our loved ones or even us will soon be vanished in this world. At least we've enoyed our time with them.

Everyone should strive to be better people. Why? Because whether or not we agree with the war in Iraq there are people dying everyday. We should not take this life for granted. We should begin by being more loving to our families, helping our neighbors and modeling good behavior for the children. We need to just absorb the beauty of nature from the greatest artist of all, G-d.

I remember now that I have some new plants which came in a few days ago to deal with. I have been putting it off as there are many things to do. But the plants may wither before I know it and they are expensive to buy. I can't afford to be buying the same species time and again. Yeah, I must act on it now. Thank you for this reminder.

You're absolutely right -- even something as simple as a single long-stem rose offered with a soft kiss when she comes home from a frustrating day (whether it's children-related or work, or family, or anything else -- it doesn't matter, hard days abound :)) can just make someone's day. Pick up a book, at random, and read something from a random page. I guarantee you'll find *something* you can talk about for at least a couple minutes, A ten minute walk on the beach (if one's available) or through a park (these are much more common) can clear your mind enough to get you motivated to really tear through a day full of challenging tasks. Taking a walk to run an errand instead of driving there can expose you to *all* sorts of culture (note: if you live in a crappy neighborhood, you'll *really* meet some "interesting" bits of culture ... carry appropriate defensive weaponry for this :)). Feeling artistic? Go buy an artist's pad (the cheapest, crappiest one you can find at Wal-mart), some cheap, crappy pencils or pens (or whatever medium you think you'd like), and go nuts. Does it suck? Want to try something else? Go download ActivePython on your computer, install it, and follow the tutorials in the first few chapters of Dive Into Python (a tutorial/primer on the Python programming language). Write a program. Trust me, you can write *something*. Did that suck, or did it feel good (sparking your imagination, making you thirsty for more, etc.) to write a program your computer understood? The gardening example is great, too -- spend twenty minutes a day, for one week, putting a garden together. Dig some holes, plant some plants, water them, go away. Come back tomorrow, repeat. Watch stuff grow. It's easy to learn something new (and to find something new to learn), and it definitely makes you feel better/different when you're done.

I agree with you pal , I spend as much time as I possibly can with my family and friends especially with my mam and dad , as you know they both have Alzheimer's , and we try to make new memories every day as every minute spent with them now is so precious xx

I agree. We should all try to do something to improve our lives. I think the way to do this will differ with each individual. For me I started working on my Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy. In the process I get to travel to Virginia for som of my classes. I am meeting new people and doing different things than I am used to but it is really starting to help me grow and change in my life. I am also taking my 18 month old for walks to help me start to lose weight and am trying to eat better as well. I am very active and even at work I don't just sit around. Work is where I am allowed time for mylot and other online activities after my work is done.

You sound like you're full of energy and after reading this thread I immediately thought I could sure take a lesson from you. This is a typical slow Monday morning for me. I can't move furniture around or work out in the garden because we still have snow in our back yard but I am looking forward to socializing over a supper date with my husband and hie co workers. The company is taking all the employees and their better half to a supper in recognition of all the hard work done in getting a new group home. I don't really believe people get in a rut because we want to but it is true most if not all of us has at on time been there and done that. You are so right life is short and there is always room to improve our life styles. Thank you for this thread and Take Care.
