Anyone following the OPTIONS trading route to be financially independent?

Hi..Would like to know if anyone is following this route to become rich and financially independent..Based on my exposure to options trading so far, there is a tremendous leverage effect in options(and ofcourse high risk as well)where the Return on Investment(RoI)can be pretty high.I would like to know if anyone has had experience in this field and develop a network of friends who has a similar interest and learn from each other.
