i just want to know if there are some of us here who are talented in predicting endings of some movies.
i am not good at it. i just watch it and i am just being keen to every detail in the movie i am watching. i don't have such talents in predicting what possible ending it might have.
however, my brother is good at it. he can easily read through the story lines... having ideas on how the ending of a certain film might be. sometimes, he gets to read even the twists and turns of every character. and yep. mostly, his predictions are right.
how about you? do you have such a talent to share?

Yes I can predict ending of movies and books. What I do I is I write done where in the movie or the book I guessed the ending

Wow, you are something. I had never had an experience of having known ahead how a story is to end except the love stories/romance novels. The romance novels are very predictable, that's why. But, the more intricate ones, I never had one prediction how it ends, then the story ended as I have expected, none at all that I can remember.

yep. trinidadvelasco has a point. romantic films usually have endings which can easily be guessed. unlike in movies which are so intricate already, so hard to get on with the twists of the story.

No, I do not have any talent of predicting how the movie goes as I watch it. What I'd do therefore will be to see the movie as it is presented. Movies nowadays, usually have so many twists and turns, it is hard to be guessing what will happen next. The scriptwriters are very imaginative, the viewers will be caught surprised as the end is unfolding. Your brother must have a 6th sense when it comes to movies to be able to do that.

yep. there are too much twists and turns in movies these days. a lot of writers are really good at what they are doing.

actually yes, i have the habit of ruining stuff for people on accident. i'll be watching a movie and say something like "oh i bet they kill that guy, take the money, that girl has a miscarriage and they get busted by the feds." it'll be a movie i've never seen and that will be exactly what happens. lol. i don't do it on purpose, and it's not that i can pay attention through the whole movie and make an educated guess, because i'm the girl constantly asking "what's going on? who said that? who's he talking to? WHAT'S GOING ON!!!" lol. i just have good intuition like that. :)

i try not to, and it was worse when i was younger. i'm the girl who puts on the subtitles and watches in widescreen...apparantly that's uncommon?! lol. and yes, i can be a noisy movie viewer...but really, it's not so bad anymore. i guess you won't ever be my movie date! LOL!

I think I have kindda bit talent on it lol!! specially in terms of filipino movies lol!!
Some love stories in our local films are very predictable but lately with star cinema new creative film and writing like the one with sukob and feng shui it was really hard to predict.
I love movies and sometimes guessing the ending is one of my hobbies while watching, but my husband reprimand me saying husssshhhh!!! I am trying to concetrate lol!!!

I do not like predicting the end of movies or books. this is because i love suspense and its this suspense that makes me read or watch to the end. Once i predict the end of the movie or book, i lose interest completely.

yep. when one knows the ending of the story, it's no longer interesting. the element of surprise is no longer there.

On my part I always watch the previews or even read the story of the movie before I watch the whole movie.
That's why I am good in predicting the endings of movies that I watch.LOL

yep. sometimes previews spoil the whole film. i admit i hate too long previews. i'd rather wait for the film to be watched than watch the preview of it.

I think that I am similar to your brother. That must be the cause why I do not like movies. FOr me, the most of them are the same. That is why I do not like Hollywood movies.

I believe I have 'the gift' to predict movie endings. I remember guessing the ending of the movie 'Seven', starring Brad Pitt (Girlfriend's head in the box),among others. Maybe because I'm a writer myself, that's why I am able to tell what's going to happen next (talk about over active imagination!). Oh, and as for philippine telenovelas, which have way too predictable endings, you don't need to have a talent to know how it will end. The villain will die in a horrible way in the end, and if the protagonist is married to someone who is not his/her true love, the husband/wife has to die to give way to the relationship of the one really meant for them. And they all live happily ever after! Aight? :)

hello. nice to know another writer here! and i am just envious that you have such a talent. hehe.
yep. when it comes to tagalog films, i can easily predict the outcome. mostly, they do have the same endings which is so predictable. i hope they come up with new thoughts then.

great for you! that's nice to know. actually, i am much of a movie lover and for sure, i have loads of collections of movies on DVDs and VCDs... even more than a thousand of them. i still haven't seen like 30 plus of them on my collection. but i will soon. and yet, i still can't predict them.

It doesn't take any talent for most movies because they are written to a formula. Once you see a lot of cliches that have been done over and over again, then you can usually predict the ending. If it's a Hollywood movie, there usually aren't any surprises in store. That's one reason why I prefer movies from independent studios; they take more risks and don't worry about giving the audience the same old endings.

nice point there. i do try to predict sometimes, too. and yet, most of my predictions are wrong. maybe i am just drawn too much on what the story is and not look further on what might have happen.

i think i have.. and sometimes i would rate a movie based on whether i was able to figure out the twist or predict the ending.. there came a time that i got tired of watching movies because of the predictions that i make.. then after some time i went back to watching movies and viola! i can no longer predict them! heheh! i started enjoying the movies again.. and i sort of stay away from movies with even with just the trailer, i would know what would happen.. hehehe!

i hate too long trailers, too. like they aren't trailers but a summary of the movie. and by just watching trailers, we can already get the idea of the whole story.

yep. if you are like me and not good in predicting endings, better to just focus your attention to details in the film.

I'm good at it too. It is really easy sometimes. For example if it was a normal mystery story it is the guy that you least suspect is the murderer. Nowadays writers come up with new ideas but they are not too hard to predict. For example main character is the bad guy. Realistic stories are much harder to predict. Some movies follow the same old themes and it really bothers me their creativeness. There were only two mystery stories I that I really didn't know the killer. It was very well planned. I wouldn't tell you what happened because if I tell you I would spoil you another good mystery story by telling you a another possibility.

I can predict some endings, but I rather not predict any or give away any spoilers. It is not fair to those who want to be shocked.

Actually I am pretty good at it to. I have watched alot of movies and after a few you can actually read the rest. This annoys my bf since I usually ruins it for him *lol*
However I to am wrong sometimes and for me that usually makes the movie alot better =)

Oh yes, I am pretty good at it. I just know how the script will play out. I normally pick up a book and read through such shows - since listening to the show would suffice. It's only those really good shows where there are plots within plots that I would focus my attention on the show - willingly and happily.
