When Katy starts to swish her tail rapidly, I know she is irritated with me. One of my parents cats moves his tail in such way that I am sure he is flipping me off. When all the little hairs on Katy's tail stand on end, she is in play stalking mode. You can learn a lot about a cat by watching their tail (mood-o-meter).
