Political influences during election season

In the Philippines, elections will start on May this year. I'd really like to be of a society helper by voting but when you are about to choose from among the same people who made the same promises last election and proved incapable of actually dealing with them, why bother? It's always the same story of corruption and betrayal and killings among the candidates. Buying votes are of course unethical but not to poor families.

This should be the first time for me to vote.. But, heck, it's just a waste of effort... So, i didnt register.. There would be no change anyway...

I think you should exercise your right to vote anyway! We have the same thing in the United States. Lots of promises, but nobody ever keeps most of the promises they make.
