Do you think we should have a cat

I like my dog more than my cat as its around more

I would say have one of each. LOL I am a huge animal lover. I have 3 cats, 1 dog and 2 birds myself. If you want a low maintenence animal- then pick a cat. A cat does its own thing. You don't have to take it outside every few hours like you do with a dog. You just love it, feed it, give it water, change it's kitty litter, take it to vet once a year, buy treats/toys for it and that is about it. Mine get a lot more than that, but that is just because mine are super spoiled. It just all depends on the time you have for the animals. The only opinion I personally have on this is do not give an animal if it is just going to be left outside. :-)

In my country and most African countries, the reason we keep cats is mainly to catch the usualy large army of rats that torment the family-Dogs are in the homes mainly for security and for hunting. I get amazed and perhaps culturally shocked when I see cats and dogs being hugged and kissed by western societies, some dogs actually sit in cars, sleep in beds and enjoy breakfast lunch,and supper! this is absolutely amazing! So when the question, which is better between a cat and a dog comes up, my answer from the perspective of my culture is that they both compliment good home life and support livelihood, especially in backward societies like ours-they have no special place in the home and the only time a cat is tolerated inside the house is when it is chasing rats. As for the dogs, when it catches an antelope, it must wait for the hard bones and dregs-no meat whatsoever!

i like cats better than dog, but dog is very loving animal and compare to cat they easy to understand us.but i like cats coz i can hold them and carry them whenever i go.
