wifi technology

I believe not all cellfone models have wifi access..honestly, i dont know how wifi works..But as far as im concern wifi enables our laptops and notebooks to gain internet access.There are places to what they so called wifi enabled area like in coffee shops (starbucks,seattle's best, etc)so you can browse on the net while having coffee..
