It cheers my credit card company up with all the money they make from me
I love shopping but I hate the end of the month when the bill comes

It does nothing for me. I hate to shop. Between searching for a parking space, dealing with poor customer service, and trying on clothes that simply do not fit my body anymore, I leave the store feeling depressed and stressed.
I am so not a typical female.

Yes, it does for me!
When I want to feel better, I'd go shopping for clothes or make up. They are an excellent way for me to feel better almost instantaneously. Just looking at all those different colours and textures and trying them out as they suit my fancy makes me feel good.
Lots of times, I'd also end up buying some of these stuff. I don't regret it at all because I'd find some way to use it for sure. Nothing is ever wasted. If I think I might spend too much money then I'd leave my credit cards at home and bring only my cash out. That helps to restrict my spending. :)

Someone else just brought this up on another post. She said it makes her feel better even if she doesn't buy much. I think it's fine if it makes you feel better, but a person can overspend in an attempt to compensate for feeling bad, which can, in fact, make a person feel much worse. I say good for retail therapy, but what the spending.

i used to shop a lot when i was feeling down, like the things i buy will act like some kind of a temporary satisfaction to cheer me up. whenever i'm feeling sad i always feel like going for a retail therapy, or itching to buy something! now i'm trying to cut down my expenses and try to save more, so i have to resist the temptation to shop whenever i'm sad T_T ..gotta do other things instead;)
