This is my beautiful grandson the day he was born 6 weeks early at 4 lbs 7 oz, but perfect in every way! My daughter has pre elclampsia and was bed ridden for 3 months and then in the hospital for a month before they had to do an emergency c-section after her kidneys started to fail. She is fine and now pregnant again and hoping for a lengthy and miserable full term pregnancy. It was really scary but he came home 3 weeks earlier than they thought he would! He didnt need oxygen but just for a few hours! Amazing! My daughter tried to breast feed but he would not take the breast so she used an electric Breast pump for almost 4 months! We were so very proud of her for sticking with it that long! He is now a very healthy 23 pounds at 14 months and starting to walk! We are all amazed and very greatful that there were no problems other than being early. Tell me about your preemie baby. God Bless

I just had my first grandchild. She was born March 15th and weighed 5 lbs. 7 1/2 ounces. She was a week early they said. I thought they should have left my daughter go at least to her due date of March 20th but she was having awful hip pain and pressure. They decided to start her labor and she was born. She is beautiful and perfect in every way! I am sure we all feel this way! She is so tiny that we are having a hard time finding things to fit her! She was 19 inches long so preemie sleepers are a tad short. Newborn clothing seems to fit every where but the length. 0-3 months is way to large! I guess we will have to make due with what we have for now until she grows! Congratulations and I am glad everything has turned out well for you!! There is a picture of her on my profile page if you would like to look!!!

Congratulations, she is beautiful! Newborn clothing is about your only option for her, too long for preemie clothes but too big for 0-3 mos. Michael was too little for preemie clothes for a little while. was rough. Grew quickly though.

Hey... I remember the one thing tat ALWAYS worked were the nightgowns! They fit even if they are too long and fit for a LONG time. We had dozens of them! They are the best. I am sorry i forgot that in my response to you before!

Hello yes we have a preemie grandaughter my daughter -in-law has had a kidney transplant so things were iffy from the start. She did real good untill about the 7th month and her blood pressure was just out of control so she was admited for a week or so and than the DR decided they could wait no longer her blood pressure was just to dangerous to leave the baby in any longer so on aug 28,2004 they did a c section and our beautifull grandaughter was born weighting 3 pds 2 punces, other than being small she was ok.she spent about 3 weeks in the hospital and than went home.she is fine and had no effects so far from being born early.and we hope this continus, god bless you and your family.

Thank you for asking, she is now preganet and due oct 8th so far all is going good , It just all depends on her kidneys and blood pressure. her kidneys are doing ok right now.She got her replacement from her brother so she dose all she can to do the right things and take care of it.
