Rumor of $4 Gas this summer?

United States

I just had a friend tell me that gas could pass $4 a gallon by the end of the summer. I live in the midwest and we did see gas hit $3.15 last summer, but are back to $2.65 right now. Has anyone else heard that gas will spike again this summer?

It's about the equivalent of $6.20 a US gallon here in the UK and you Americans think that you have expensive gas?

See what I told you? All I can say is I think our taxes are only about 70 cents per gallon. If we had the same taxes as you, we'd be about $7 a gallon easy.

Oh my gosh! That is quite expensive! I will be thankful for the price I am paying right now and just hope and pray that the higher cost gas will hold off for a while! My sympathies to those in the UK! LOL.

In the San Francisco Bay Area in California, we have the highest national average in gas prices. Right now, a gallon of regular 87 octane gas tied an all-time record high of $3.38. Higher octane gases, like super (89 octane) and premium (91 octane) is alread over $4 in a lot of places in San Francisco. I could easily see it hitting over $4 in this area, especially for the summer travel season.

Hi! I'm sorry to hear that you have the highest national average in gas prices. If our gas really is going up that much, I'd like to store up on some now, but that might be like storing liquid gold and then we'd have to worry about theft!

I have not heard that, but with gas prices over 3.50, I can see it going up to 4.00 a gallon. Hopefully that will not happen.

It sure looks like we are heading back to the $3.oo range for fuel. It would be nice if it stopped there!
