Suddenly I was wondering ... Why do we have eyebrows ?????????

I had read somewhere long ago that eyebrows also protect dust and other particles from getting into the eye. And it also slows the flow of fluids(like water and oil) from our hair into our eyes. Most importantly eyebrows are a unique form of identifying a person. If you remove the eyebrows, it changes the look of a person. In some countries its illegal to remove the eyebrows completely. it is to protect our eyes from sweat coming from our forehead because our lashes would not absorb the sweat ,it can only protect our eyes from dust particles.now, with concern to our moustache and beard, i don't know.the only answer i could think of is for making us look like real men or use for something else.lol!

I think a frown woukd lose its character without eyebrows, and what would you raise when you're surprised if you dudn't have eyebrows to raise?

That's a really good question. LOL I never thought of it. I know people with no eyebrows look wierd. I have to paint mine on...I have eyebrows, but they are very light and don't even look as if they are there. I hate it!

Hi guys! I'm sure there is a use for eyebrows besides the obvious - protect the eyes. I think we will look awful without them! Maybe more scarry than awful. However, did you realise that there are people who have no eyebrows and love drawing them on in the name of vanity ? LOL. Cheers! -Lyn

Good question ricknkae. I would guess that it's to protect our eyes? I mean protect it from sweat for example and dust? It adds protection to what the eyelashes already do. It's just a guess.

I think that we have eye brows to protect our eyes. just like our eyelids as they do not always do the work properly like eye lashes do. Otherwise I did look this up and it says that we need eye brows as this is the ridge of our eyes.
