I am pretty new to scrapbooking. I have played around with it for years but just recently signed up as a consultant for Close To My Heart. My website is www.shannonstepp.myctmh.com. My question is this: Do you know many people who make ok money from these types of businesses? I am having a lot of fun but don't really know how to get starting promoting my business online. I haven't had an online sale yet but am hoping to get my first one soon. What is your favorite scrapbooking company?

I'm about to become a consultant for Creative Memories and the little promoting that I have done (I tried it out to see if I would be any good before going full blown into it) has been phenominal. I've had a great turn out rate for the party and have started talking to family and friends who aren't near me about the website. It's easiest to start with your family and friends and hold a party at your house. Then you have little gifts that's weren't to expensive and you give them to everyone after you've gotten three people to host a show for you. Plus those three people will get a percent off their order. And orders over say $50 you'll pay shipping. The first intro show you'll probibly break even or make a little bit. But have product on hand like the cleaners and stamp pads and a couple of the stamp blocks. It doesn't have to be alot of fancy stuff that puts you in debt becuase mostly people will want to buy the cheap stuff anyways. Hope this helps. (I just noticed that this was posted 9months ago) Lol Hopefully you are a smashing success by now. But if not maybe you could do this to re-energize your sales.

Tiffiny,
Thanks so much for your advice. Yes, things are going well with my business. Everyone who buys our products really seem to love them. How is your Creative Memories business going? Great, I hope. I have used the products years ago and loved them. I sincerely hope you are having a wonderful and blessed holiday season and may the new year bring huge amounts of success to your new business. Don't forget to scrap all those memories!
Sincerely,
Shannon Stepp

i don't know many people who are scrapbooking consultants. Over here, we have 2 main scrapbooking stores and most people get supplies from them, or over the internet via ebay. although shipping internationally can really kill.
all the best though! K&Co and Making Memories are some of my favourite companies.
