Have you ever made a Sims family based on your own real life family?

I do the same thing. I have a family of mine in just about every different "village". I also make other family members and friends. In one of my houses, I have a cat and a dog that in real life have past away. Its like keeping the memory of my pets alive. I did have a house that was identical to mine but I got rid of it. I'd rather "live" in something much nicer.

Usually I make the Sims themselves based on my husband and I...but the rest is just how it comes out. More like my 'dream' home then my home now since I don't really like the home we are in now. If I had the pet verison I'd get a dog like ours too lol

I played Sims a few years ago now on a friends computer. I made a me character and a character of my then boyfriend. I was so ticked off when my character immediately had a baby. Scared me too!

I used to do that all the time! I'd make sim versions of myself, my mother, my friend who lvies with us, and often in the neighbourhood i'd put other family members and people i know! I always make them look as much like the real ones, names and all.. I do this most often when i'm angry with one of my family members, or an enemy...I make a little sim of them, and i lock them in a room, and laugh as they slowly die...yes, I know i'm sadistic...I also make sim versions of politicians and celebrities which i hate and watch them die. I find it very amusing.

yes i played the sims 2 and in that i made the house in the same design of my house and also made the same family members in the sims 2 its a very good option that we can make anybodys face bcuz there are many templates and i also made mine face which looked so same i got some jobs same but not all i got my sis in school as she is in real i love the sims very much

sometimes... its kinda funny to see yourself controlling your family.. Nut most of the time, i make families based on what family i want in the near future..

Yes I have sometimes done it, but I prefer made a Sims Family based on people that I know mixing the couples making strange changings XD

Whew! I was worried that I might be a little obsessed too. I also built a Sims house and family to match my own. The ironic part (I live daily for irony) was that playing my own family made me realize how unhappy I was with my life. My husband is a truck driver (mostly home every night) with long hours and we have two sons (14 & 12). I saw my character doing EVERYTHING for the house and the family, except making the money. So, there was no happiness, rest, comfort, or even time to eat. That's when I stopped playing (shortly) in order to make a change for the better! :-)

i name my sims after my favorite celebrities because i play it to fit my fancy, like i pretend to be jennifer garner or jLo or paris hilton and i build really really big houses and fill it with psychedelic colors and really expensive stuff. it's all play pretend.

My friend does that. In fact when we were in college, she made an entire section of our dorm with her friends. At first I thought it was strange that she would take the time out to make Sims of everyone, but then she let me help her design me and it ended up being a lot of fun. When I play the Sims, I'm not all that interested in making life as it is in reality. Since it's a game, I would rather build my dream house and then have Sim neighbors of people like Elijah Wood. In fact, I have an entire neighborhood devoted to just characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I've even thrown in some Firefly characters for good measure. I don't often make a Sim of myself. Although I do love the idea of setting up a house with my boyfriend and I. Because then I can say things like "Look, the Sim version of you is willing to clean the bathroom. I wonder why the real life version won't." ^_^

I tried to do that, and make a house that looked like mine, and I had a lot of fun with it. I've also made up families consisting of people that I know and don't like, so I could see them fail, like never learning skills, having no friends, etc, but I just couldn't go through with it, and I started to think it was like some kind of voodoo and not a good thing to do, so I just gave them a hard time for a little bit and then let them do alright. I thought it might be a little pathetic, but it was sort of like therapy for me.

I do that alot. Also sometimes I make my sims house based on what my house layout is. I try to make it exact, and sometimes I can come really close to it. I think alot of people do this. Well, I hope so at least or I would just be weird. Ha ha. I used to be real into the sims, although I did not like sims online nor sims 2 I just like the original sims. I would spend hours on there. It is so fun to me. Sometimes I like to make superstars, and see how famous I can get them.

Yes me too, my dreams come true when im playing sims i have a big house with a swimming pool a terrace and a car with a garage that i dont have in a real life, but the characters are us and im enjoying they have a dog also like our dog in real life. Do you ever try to use some cheats on it?

I do name my sims after my family members and me. Its nice to see "me" living in a nice house designed and built by "myself". I like building houses alot. At one point of time i spent 3hours to finish building a house. =P

Hehe, I don't think you sound sad and obsessed, I've done exactly the same thing! I made two sims who look exactly like me and my bf and then gave them loads of kids. I also made a cat just like our own, but then I gave it to another family as I had gotten a bit fed up with playing with the sims of me and my bf. Still, I'm amazed at how much the sim version of my bf looks like him!

Would you believe that last weekend I made my family. Although they look very similiar, the sims have decided to take different careers to us. Unfortunatley they don't live in their dream home as of yet, (can't buy a good house with 20000 simileons!) but maybe by the third generation they'll have it.

omg!i just bought the deluxe eddition for my pc and i love it!my husband thought it was funny because i put all of my family on there and their real names,and also made it look like us too.love it!!!
