I have an SLR camera that I've had for a couple years now. I spent $300 on it and have only ended up using it for 3 rolls of film at the very most. Does anyone have any suggestions on the most profitable way to sell it? I saw the same one on eBay, but it's starting at $57 and has no bids on it.:(

I think the best way to sell your camera with reasonable price is to deal it with your friends.I'm sure that some of your friends want to have a camera which is affordable in their budget.

yeah, agreed with romel. you should try ask your friends or family first if they want to buy your camera with affordable price. But just make sure the camera is in good condition, so they'll consider on buying that camera.

Take it to a Major camera store andsee what they will give you for it. You ckiuld also search the web for companies that buy cameras and used camera equiptment and they will give you an estimate of its value. You can always try ebay.

I'm selling my old digital SLR on eBay right now and you can see what it's going for. I paid $300 including shipping via eBay just last year for this, even though the technology is a few years old.
You can't expect to make a lot of money on resale items that's for sure. You really can only make money off of new items.

but why would you wanna sell an SLR. btw is it a digital SLR or the analog one? I have a nikon regular SLR and love it.I'm even planning to get a macro lens for it.Try selling it to some of friends or any studio near by.They might find it useful. But i suggest that you keep it cuz an SLR can be used to take beautiful snaps.

You should check out Craigslist. I get a lot of my photo equipment on there, and there's almost always something for the film camera user. They recently just expanded sections, so there's now an official photo/video section.
As with any camera, you should give a good description of the body, lens(es), accessories, etc. With a camera body, you can only get the shutter to work so many times. Having an actual number should be a big help.
Stay realistic with it. If I can buy the thing brand new for 150, I'm not spending 135 to get it used. If I can get it for 2/3 of what it costs new, then I start considering it based on its condition.
If you absolutely need to get a certain amount, then just keep it posted every few weeks until you can get a buyer.
Note, I say Craigslist as opposed to Ebay because there is no fee associated with listing or selling the item.

I would just put it on Ebay. Just because no one ever made a bid on that other camera doesn't mean you wont get any bids.
Ebay has a lot more options now.
You should check into. Ebay is so the place now a days.
Good luck.
And just remember, even if you get no bids, you can still keep it up on Ebay until someone does. You can also do a buy it now.
Someone out there would love to have it.

Right now, digital SLR cameras are what's selling. Regular SLRs are a lot harder to sell, and have gone down drastically in price. I would say your best bet would be either Ebay or Craigslist. On craigslist, you set the price, and the people contact you about buying it, so that might be good for you, since you don't have to rely on people bidding to make the price higher. Only downside is they have to pick it up at your house.
