E-learning or e-training

Local management assigned an task for me again. Now they want me to do some research in e-learning. How this e-learning can add value in the company. Basically they have create a team named internal trainer pool, which will provide support to train a group people in company to become trainer. As the sametime they also looking at e-learning to speed up some of the training. Something new to me, although I am from IT backgroud, come to this type of documentation thing, I am idiot. :) But I know this will be another change for me to learn again. Thank.
