I was just wondering if any of you had some kind of unexplained occurance with a pet of yours. Two years ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancer....she was in and out of the hospital almost every other month. Our one cat, Pyewacket, used to love to jump up on the sofa and cuddle up to keep my mom company. Then suddenly, he wouldn't go near her....this was around August of 2006. On August 11th my mother had to go into the hospital...she had an aggressive form of pneumonia...she was in a medicated induced coma and on respirators...the works..just like something out of one of those medical shows you see. Still for two weeks, Pyewacket still would't go near the sofa...then one night...on August 26th, out of the blue he hopped up on the sofa. The next day I went the hospital to visit my mother...it was to be the last time I did, as she died while I was there.
The point I'm making here though...did my cat, Pyewacket sense my mother's approaching death?

I think it's quiet possible. Our cats and dog seem to know when we are sick. They give us extra attention and try to make us feel better. I know when one of us is in the hospital they will miss that person. They act differently and will hang around the area where that person normally is. It's obvious that they know something isn't right.
I think it's quite possible he knew. I think cats and dogs for that matter have a lot more going on then many give them credit for.

She may have, people are always saying that animals have a 6th sense about stuff like this. I am so sorry about your mom, that is a terrible way to lose someone.
