How do you stop a dog from digging under the fence?

If I knew how to stop a dog from digging, My daughter wouldn't have dozens of holes in her back yard! Her dog steals things from the house and bury's them Just Friday, I found a halfloaf of bread, one of thebaby's dollies, my grandson's favourite toque and a box of cereal. He digs huge holes, drops the item in and them fills thehole back up with his nose. then he lays on the dirt to smooth it down. If he wasn't burying things we want, it would be cute. All this winter he has been tryingto dig up an old tree stump, no easy feat, since it gets very cold here and the ground is frozen stiff. he has about 8 inches unearthed and after he digs for a while he lays in the stump. No tellingwhy he does it. We assume its because he's bored.

There are alot of things you can try to do.You can put down electric fence on the bottom (thats what we did). you can put down cement like a gutter around the bottom. You can get some dog traing to detur that type of behavior.But for real dogs love to dig its natural behavior. its going to be a hard one good luck.

I have that trouble with my neighbours dog, he is an outside dog but when I looked after him for awhile I let him inside my house and he loves me and he is always digging under the fence to get into my place, I have put bricks and boards along the fence line, seems to have stopped him...for awhile.. :)
