Society makes me very sick. I posted a discussion about a woman on the bus who was being harrassed by a man and when she stood up for herself he punched her in the face and the bus driver let him get off of the bus. I got exactly three responses to this. I later read someone elses discussion about an elderly couple who was being harrassed by a man and a lot more people responded to that. So because the woman on the bus wasn't old and decrepet her harrassment didn't mean as much as the old couple. Harrassment is harrassment, whether you are old or young, male or female. This same sickining reaction from that bus driver and from the people on the bus. And to make matters worse, the woman that it happened to was me.

Oh, I am so sorry you were attacked like that. I just read your other post, and I cannot believe the insensitivity of those people who were riding with you. Someone should have stepped in to help, or at least have been willing to give a statement corroborating what you told the police. Sometimes, today's society can be pretty selfish and uncaring. But if the same were to happen to them, then they would be all up in arms if no one were to stand up for them.
As for the number of posts, I agree with the first person that replied to this discussion. It takes time sometimes for people to respond. And when you make more friends here, it will get better. I have been here three months, and I still have a few discussions with only two or three responses. Just hang in there...it will get better, I promise. If you don't mind, I would like to send you a friend request. Then maybe I can help to "up" your number of responses. wink

I am so sorry that you were assualted. It doesn't matter who it is. When something like that is done it is just wrong. I hope that you were not badly hurt. Don't worry about the amount of responses you are new once you start making friends here you will get a lot more responses. I have been here for two months and sometimes I get lots of responses and other times I might get two. Don't let it discourage you. Hope everything is ok and he didn't hurt you badly...

Thanks. Actually that experience made me want to learn how to defend myself, and not to back down from any one. Sometimes standing up for yourself means consequences, but I can handle the consequences now because I carry a hammer in my purse, and if that means me going to jail for putting someone to sleep eternally then so be it.

im so sorry to hear but sh*t happens all the time and anywhere. we just dont know when will it happen. what happened to you was real bad. there are a lot of people right now who dont know how to respect other people. some just dont think and simply doesn't care as long as they get what they want
