It takes me around 15 hours total.
I am currently writing one for my Microbiology class on the amount of bacteria found in ground vs. whole chicken.
This one is proving to be more complicated than ever. We did the tests on these sample about a month and a half ago and I can't remember anything. I have a feeling it's going to be a long night:(

A typical paper for one of my classes takes...gee, I don't even know how long. lol Are you talking about from the time I first sit down until the time when I print it out to take to class? Maybe I should time it sometime. Generally, it takes a couple of weeks for me to write a solid paper that I'm happy with. That's working on it from about 1-4 hours per day. The first week, I usually spend doing the literature search and fleshing out a rough outline. The second week I usually spend writing, writing, writing, rewriting, and then...writing a little more. lol
As a matter of fact, right now I'm procrastinating working on a paper that's due next week. It's about half done and I find that I have almost no motivation to finish it. Ah well...

I know this is terrible... but I usually pull up and print out my research material right away. And then it gets put to the side and I end up writing my paper the last 6 hours before my class. I just can't seem to write until the pressure is on. I always get As though.

I know!! I am the same way, I get better grades when the pressure is on.
That's the way I am with studying too. I wish I was one of those people that studies throughout the entire semester, but it seems that I never have the time!LOL! I have my Micro. final on Thursday night and I still haven't gotten to study.
Plus I have to meet with my writing teacher today to get a paper back so I can revise it before Monday.

I finished up my last two finals on Tuesday - Statistics and American Government. I didn't get to study too much for either... but I got my grade back on Stats already and it's good. Holding my breath for Gov't.

as it is well said "rome was not build in a single day" and research is not a easy topic. i am surprised that it takes 15 hours to write a scientific paper. writing an scientific paper is not an easy job, it requires thorough knowledge of the subject on which u r expressing ur finding. as i myself is author of one paper
