Why a strangers name taken with my name???????????????

It just shows that your mother couldn't have had you alone without that man! So you have to bear his name as a reminder!

I have that same problem. My ex-husband has left my daughter and I in 04. My daughter had just turned 1 that year. My daughter has not seen or heard from her dad in 3 years. We have been to court to try to change her lastname. The guy I am with now has raised my daughter for 2 years and loves her very much. He wants to adopt her but my daughters dad does not want to sign over his rights. It makes no sense! He doesn't see or talk to her for 3 years but doesn't want to sign up rights? He's CRAZY! Lol.. Anyways, I honestly think you should ask your mother if you can try to change your lastname if you want your moms lastname.
