I suffer from excessive dandruff. I have tried a lot of Anti dandruff shampoo's but it failed. The extreme dry conditions, here, makes the situation worse. I always have dull hair and also lost a lot of hair too. Can you suggest any home remedies or cosmetics which can minimise or control dandruff?

i don't know if you're tried it,but my dad used to use a tegrin shampoo on his head. you might want to make sure it's not psoriasis which can also cause flaking.

my son got a prescription shampoo from his doctor, which worked instantly, he used a small amount 3 times a week for the first few weeks and now only needs to use a little bit once a month to maintain the effectiveness. It has the pharmaceutical name on the script but I think it is either the same as tegrin or selsun blue.

For Dandruff: Dissolve two aspirins in your dandruff shampoo and watch how it clears up. Use a good moisturizing conditioner afterward. Home remedy for Falling Hair: Take 10-15 leaves of the large Ber fruit. Burn them in mustard oil, make a paste and apply on your hair for 1 hour and then wash it. This remedy surely works and prevents hair loss for almost everyone. Tip: Never sleep in a tight braid or ponytail. Never brush wet hair too. It is always advisable to let your hair dry naturally than to use any heating equipment. These practices can cause hair breakage or loss of hair over time.

1) Try using curd to wash your hair. Also use some lemon drops in it. 2) Apply tomoto juice and coconut oil before washing your hair. 3) You can also try applying Coconut juice with black seasoms before washing your hair. 4) Always use good quality anti-dandruff shampoo. 5) Wash your hair every alternate days. 6) Drink aloe vera juice. It's always best for skin and hair.

well yoghurt is a good anti dandruff, for dull hair apply egg yolk and honey. it will make your hair very shiny. i have tried it. even my hair are quite dull, when i apply egg, they get a natural shine. washing your hair with lime juice will also help a lot. a few months back even i was searching for dandruff remedy , and many searches showed that putting an aspirin in your shampoo bottle works really great. neem leaves are good too. boil a handful of neem leaves in 4 teacups of water, after cooling and filtering, use for rinsing hair. good luck

Here is a natural remedy for dandruff which helped me: Put 2 L of water in a big soup pot. Get a metal or mesh tea ball (available at any dollar or big box type store) and grate one third of a cup of ginger root (available in the produce section of any supermarket) and put the grated gingerroot into the tea ball. Put the teaball into the water and simmer it on low to medium for 1 to 3 hours, adding more water as necessary. When you are done, let the liquid cool completely and pour it into lidded glass containers(throw the grated ginger away). Use it as the final rinse on your hair when you shampoo and condition. Make sure it gets to your scalp when you pour it on. It relieves dandruff AND the itching associated with it. Hope this helped!

Well, Im not very good with home made medicines... But i guess if you shave yer head once and later take care of yer bald head by washing it regularly and wash yer comb also... And make sure no one except you use yer comb so that later people in the house wont be infected by yer dandruff, later they will have a grudge on ya and again use yer comb so that yer dandruff will be returned... After having yer head shaved dont 4get to change the cover of yer pillow and again dont share it with anyone... See that these things are used like yer personal things, the same way how you use yer underwear!!!

When you wash your hair, make sure to use a hair dryer (preferably a hooded variety rather than a blow dryer) when you leave your hair to dry naturally more moisture is pulled from your scalp causing a worse problem. Try rinsing your hair with vinegar, not only will it help to remove any scales and residues, it is also a mild fungicide (being acidic as it is) dandruff is a fungus, so vinegar helps to kill it and solve your troubles. Best Wishes.
