about those adopted chinese girls

Today I learned a fact that 1/4 foreign children adopted by American are chinese girls.
at first i thought they are fortunate.
but then i learned another fact that some of them didn't really want to adopt a daughter but only a sister for their children.
my feeling mixed.
what do you think caused this phenomenon.
what do you think about those chinese babies.
what do you think will be the most likely consequence?

I don't get it. How can you adopt a baby just for one reason, if your son has a sister youalso get a daughter right. these two things are one and the same thing. I am sorry but I didn't get your point.
How can I have a sister for my son if I don't accept a daughter.
I had my daughter for a reason that I felt my son should not be the only kid and I also wanted a second baby. I had her thats how my son git a dauhter.

The mean I wanted to express is just that :those people's words made me think of their children's pet, doll. Let me wonder whether those girls can really get good care in those families.
