Why do i get jealous? Is it a human instinct that hovers everyone when he sees something better than he has? Is it unavoidable? You all would have been through same situation at one time. I mean even if i write good discussions, i just get 4-5 responses. Do you feel the same way? Are there some tricks to get good number of responses. Please do share.

You are a newbie here. It takes awhile to get people to know that you are here. The best way to get noticed, is to respond to other peoples posts. The more you responded to others the more people respond to yours. Keep posting and you will find that others will respond to you.
Try to put thought into each response and be as descriptive as possible, that is the best way to get noticed. I read and rate all post I reply to and all that I start. I try to wait a week to mark best response to make sure everyone who wants to respond does.
But I think the best way to get people to respond to your post is responding 10 to 15 times more than you post. Getting people interested in what you have to say. Welcome to mylot and don't get discouraged.

Not a problem, I have had the same questions when I first started. I have found, that by taking a little bit of time to put into reponses, not only gets more people responding to your post but you all earn more money. I reached min. payout at a little over 300 posts. Its is because of the tips I have gotten from experienced mylotters.
That is what it is about, sharing our opinion, our knowledge, and sharing with people who we are.

I think we all get at least a little bit jealous from time to time about different things whether it is responses on here or things that occur in our daily lives away from the computer. It does not bother me that other people get more responses than me. I am happy that people respond to my discussions. I think you will get more responses as long as you create good, well thought out topics and stay within the rules here at myLot. Once you have been here longer and have replied to other topics, I think you will start getting more. Making friends on this site will help you as well.

hi vikasgasgiitr!
Yes, sometimes i get jealous on mylotters whose discussion gets a lot of response too. And i often wonder how come mine don't get that much comments.
I still got 1 page of unresolved discussions, so you are not alone. As a matter of fact, there are thousand of users here on the same boat as you are.
I think having lots of friends here will ensure that someone will actually respond to every discussions you will make. So add up! Just be sure the user you are adding to is active and would care to comment on friends discussions rather than hooked up on just starting a discussion and never commenting on the peoples responses.
I also think, adding tags helps you get more visible and most of all start a discussion that most people can relate. That way responses are guaranteed to come your way.
I appreciate you make some comment to people replying to your discussion, it makes us feel welcome and appreciated too. Makes us come back to your discussion again.
Enjoy your stay in Mylot!

You have only just started here at Mylot. Give it time. One day you will post a discussion that gets 20 or more responses and you'll wonder why you ever got jealous lol.
Another way of guaranteeing responses to a certain extent, is to make sure you respond to discussions started by your friends, and in return they will respond to your discussions.
I had a quick peek at your profile, and you only have 10 friends so far on your list. Maybe request more people to be your friend, and you'll start getting more responses.
Good Luck. I hope you enjoy mylot.

All the time because it seems like a lot of the discussions that get a ton of responses aren't even any better than my ones that may not get any kind of a response at all. It's not fair. I don't know what tricks to say except ask about how to make money online and get a thousand spamers or ask how much is mylot paying or complain about them that seems to do it too.

I do get that too sometimes but later on I will just forget that. I think its all about the timing and yeah popularity maybe a big factor. But for me the most important thing is how you deliver your dicussion in more comical way if its comedy and dramatic way its a serious one. Wrting compostition for me here in mylot can really affect the numbers of responded.

Yeah! As i am getting more experienced at mylot, i am learning that serious discussions rarely get points. It's mostly weird stuff that attracts attention. Fun, emotions, drama and the way of writing in your discussion does matters. Thank you, i will keep your point in mind for my future posts.

lol... yes, I'm zelous, what have they that we don't have? Sometimes the ones that you expect to gather good response are the ones that wont get response very often then at times there are a lot response to those you thought was just a share of your mind Life is like that. So be it, just enjoy myLot and think the way others like to think

Hi! You're new here, so you will get the hang of it. Later, you will find out the tricks on your own. I've been here for 2 months now, and my reaction to those getting a lot of responses is 'wonderment'. I just wonder why they are getting a lot of responses from their discussions that are not that worth discussing (sorry about this -- just my opinion). Basically it's the popularity then, and the length of stay here. They may also know which type of discussion would gather many responses, but I still think it's the popularity factor. Imagine, even the simple one as choosing between one thing and another thing would garner 100+ responses! I wouldn't even do that even if I knew that I would get that much responses. It really depends on you and your purpose of joining here. All in all, I'm still enjoying my stay here because I'm learning a lot from other people's experiences. I don't trouble myself too much about points, star rating, earnings, and all that stuff. Happy myLotting!

Jealousy is a human feeling. but when you write discussions and you don't get as much responses as the others have, don't fret. you are not alone! be glad when someone responds at all to your thoughts at the moment! i do have discussions that don't have responses, but well, maybe it wasn't just an interesting topic.. i just keep on writing and enjoy what i'm doing!

It's really nice to see your positive attitude towards getting responses. So, it has proved to be a good thing that i started writing at mylot. I am learning a lot here. I never thought sharing thoughts can be that fun. I think now(after reading your post), i am going to have more enthusiasm at writing posts. You are right, i must look at the positive side of it. Thank you once again.

Counting the responses is one thing while writing for enjoyment is another . Even if you are on mylot for money forget money when you are posting . Do not be a miser with words . Write your heart out . Be natural , people appreciate that . And they link to that . So what if you get 4 responses and another one gets 20 ,you should be happy about what you have written .
The important thing here is interacting and getting to know the views of others .
Ego , leave it behind !

Jealousy. I dont think it is human insticnt to feel jealous. There are lot of people who appreciate at others growth. However, if you are feeling jealous and you have become aware of it, its well and good. Once you become conscious of it and you want to come out of it, its a good sign. Start appreciating small things. You may want to come up with a list of things that you are grateful for. Coming to second part, your intention matters. The trick is your subject for topic should be interesting, sometimes controversial so that many people would pitch in with their views..

I think this is a good way to provoke a response and a discussion, challenge people, question peoples motives. Most of us are proud and believe that we are superb at some stuff. The reality is that we are pretty ordinary. Hence we get jealous. However that makes us special because people see our hackles rise and that provokes a response too. It can escalate out of proportion. As others have said, write a good discussion. If nobody reads it or responds - their loss. If you feel passionate about something you can be sure that someone will feel have the opposite outlook.
Write with passion!!

Actually it is part of the human process. feeling a little inferior to others. A feeling of dissatisfaction.

Even if it is a natural human process, it has to change at least with me. I hate myself like this when i am jealous of something and i think it is changing.

Of course, it's just another website but you always want people to say something about what you think. Imagine a group of people whom you are talking to and none of them respond. What would you think then? Won't it be awkward for you?

I think you got lots of responses her in your topic, don't be jealous. Look at my topics, very few people who responses in my topics, but i'm not sad or jealous, because for me, i just having fun here in mylot, it's just a game dear, and should try to enjoy it, not to be getting serious on it. Not being trying hard, but to strive for the best. There's lots of people in mylot, that when they start a discussions, few people responsed on them. Be glad that you have lots of reponses here and just enjoy the mylot community. :)
