I love my coffee too. I must have Millstone, grind the beans, and enjoy. It is a little expensive though. I have used the store brand of WalMart and Fodgers. Both are okay, and cheaper.

Oh, sorry, I managed to misread your question. If he's already drinking his coffee at home, I don't really see how to save money on that anymore. Only by making less tasty coffee by using less coffee, but I don't think that's very good idea. Here normal coffee 0.5kg(1.1pounds) costs around 1.5€-4€($2-$5), though the cheapest ones taste very bad.

i can't start my day without coffee either so i know how MD feels...coffee is the one thing that i will only buy Maxwell house so what i do is wait for a good sale at my store like two weeks ago they had the 2.5 pound can of ground for $4.88..now with only me drinking it and using 2 tablespoons per pot and only one pot per day (usually lol) this lasts a long time...next time it goes on sale lightningMD i'll let you know and send you some!!!

Check the mail and online for coupons. I don't know where he goes, but I have seen starbucks coupons before and more recently, I got an entire book of dunkin donuts coupons in the mail, and a few were for free coffee, a couple of bucks off a latte and stuff like that. Also some coffee places have a "vip" program, where you buy 10 and get 1 free. They have a little card that they punch for you when you buy. If his place doesn't have that, maybe he can suggest it! I know coffee is expensive from experiance! My husband spends alot of money at the coffee places too!

You might want to get a coffee grinder, and start grinding your own coffee at home. It will cut back on the cost of coffee. You might also order supplies for making Turkish Coffee from http://www.turkishtaste.com, and that will cut down on coffee filters.

My husband and I drink a lot of coffee also. We drink it in the morning, afternoon and in the evening. He drinks more than me. Yes the coffee prices did go up, but we still buy it. We just have to have our coffee.
The last time we bought our coffee was at the dollar store it was $9 for 3 pounds.

I agree, coffee can be very expensive but it's the only way hubby & I can get going in the mornings. I tend to go to HEB or Walmart for my coffee, depending on who has the better price. As long as I have enough in my budget, I like to stock up on the big 2 1/2 lb cans when some of the big name brands are on sale for $4 versus the normal $6-9 price.
Since the name brand coffees rarely go on sale like that, I tend to buy the store brand and in a very strong flavor as you can make it last a little longer. Our favorites are the Columbian and Arabica bean coffees. Our coffeepot has a knob to change from strong to weak, so I brew it on strong but I can use fewer scoops per pot and still get a nice strong cup of coffee.
If you like flavored coffees, it's easy to add a few drops of liquid flavoring or flavored powders. Depending on my mood, I like a few drops of vanilla, almond or a scoop of hot chocolate mix stirred into mine on occasion. It's cheaper too, lol. :)
