I know this is not very kind but sometimes at church there is someone that gets up to testify and it goes on and on. I know I shouldn't be this way but I get really irritated that the minister does not put the kabash on these people. Why do churches allow testimonies? Is it Biblical? Anyone ever stand up to testify at your church and go on and on? If so, does it irritate you?

When I used to go to church, they did not have testifying. They had singing, reading, praying, and that was it. Easter egg hunts and special Christmas plays, but that's about it.
I wonder where testimonies came from. Have you ever read Huck Finn? That is hilarious with the testimonies and making money off the Christians who believed that stuff. That part really made me laugh.

I knew a couple of ladies who testified every single week at my grandmother's church, and every single week they cried throughout the whole thing. And it really did seem less sincere the more I heard it. I mean, once in a while when they really felt "moved" I could see it, but these ladies do this same testimony every single Sunday, year after year. I don't live there anymore, but I'm sure they're still doing it.
I think letting someone who has had a major life/faith change talk once in a while is cool, but I could see how such outbursts could keep everyone else from enjoying a service or learning and worshipping in the way they choose.

Well I don't attend church anymore, but when I used to yes it would be kind of annoying.
Although now if I attended church it would most likely annoy me on a whole different level seeing as I don't believe the same things church teaches anymore. I've been enlightened about serveral things and it used to bother me when my curiousity first started, I wanted to be able to just think simply about god & church again, I wanted to be simple minded and believe what I was told...
But now knowing what I know in my heart, it bothers me to see people who simplify things so much....
I just wish they could see things from another point of view, but whatever, if they are happy in their beliefs & following blindly then so be it.

for me its ok .. actually 1 day is not enough to say how much you are blessed by God . its good to share your blessing to other. , and tell them how much you love God? but there is a time for everything. he also need to look at the time if he is consuming all the time . pray for him it works!!!
