Well, i'm a girl & i don't think Valentines in any more than another day - personally. I don't think the big gift companies can really tell you there is only 1 day a year where you can celebrate your love for someone & buy them things - especially when everything on Valentines Day seems to be dearer than every other day! I usually just do the same as i do every other day! I think Valentines means something different for different people so if it's not your thing, then maybe you could find yourself a girl who feels the same way!

You dont have to celebrate valentines day only on feb-14th, you can celebrate it daily. Love doesnt know one single day. you can do it every day.
