I think valentines day is yet another calander date which is becoming yet just another reason for shops to cash in.
Don't get me wrong, i'm a sucker for romance as much as the next girl but I don't need my guy to spend a fortune on me just because its the done to show me he loves me. I know that regardless.
We don't tend to do much, this year he surprised me and arranged something but we don't normally bother, just give each other cards and go for a meal. I wouldn't call it celebrating, its more just we like to put that evening aside for us.
I think there is a lot of pressure on the guy to make some sweeping gesture and spend lots on money on that day, not everyone can afford to do that. As nice as it i'd prefer a guy to do that because he wants too and not just becasue its done thing on that day.
I'm sure many girls would disagree with this, but there is more to love than a dozen red roses :)

We never do.. but it's fun if folks want to.. or can be. If the woman expects it, I think it's good for the man to play along..
