Well, while watching the news today i noticed that the french have broken a new record of the speed they managed to get one of their trains, never mind safety, but they state this is an accomplishment. Then came a comparison to the british railways which are slower and less efficiant and so on. What you may not have heard is that the british railways was been subsidised with approx 2.4 billion pound for the coming years to improve the overalls ervice. Yet the french rail way has not been subsidized at all and the french railway has actually earned a profit. So how is it that the french manage to do this all when the british havent. I have never been to france so can only say that i thought the british railways were very good, sometime off time and late and so on but this doesnt happen to often.
cheers
